    Oh the irony...

Labor unions lash out over job killing energy policies

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 6:46 PM PT – Monday, January 25, 2021

Labor unions that endorsed Joe Biden are lashing out after he revoked the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline.

The United Association of Union Plumbers, which backed the Democrat president, released a statement over the weekend which said, “sadly the Biden administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work.”

Biden’s executive order is expected to cut at least 11 thousand union jobs.

Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wis.) said he was disgusted by the move.

“Joe Biden’s first day in office, he killed thousands of American jobs. Joe Biden killed hundreds of Wisconsin jobs,” Steil stated. “I find his decision disgusting.”

Gov. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) also slammed the job losses, saying “these aren’t just statistics, they’re lives and families.”

Thats just how Biden got in, he said what he had planed for Keystone an the America oil industry, yet democrats chose 'Get Trump", over American jobs and industry....TDS aftereffects

Ending Keystone pipeline was 'proof' the left prioritizes their agenda over working Americans: Rubio
Senator says Biden move 'will do nothing for the environment'

"Getting rid of the Keystone pipeline will do nothing for the environment," Rubio told "Fox & Friends."

Ending the Keystone pipeline project will "upset" the United States’ Canadian allies and put 11,000 families on the "unemployment line" at a time when it's hard to find work, he added.

"And the kind of work that we need in this country, and they had no problem at the stroke of a pen putting eleven thousand people out of work."

Kerry always was an arrogant elitist, so out of touch with the reality that is America, always the smartest guy in the room

Cruz blasts Kerry for 'arrogant' statement that solar power job is 'better choice' for workers
'The Democratic elites have decided that blue-collar workers ... they've made the wrong choices,' Texas Republican tells 'Fox News Primetime'

"They have been fed the notion that somehow dealing with climate is coming at their expense," Kerry said. "No, it's not. What is happening to them is happening because of other market forces are already taking place."

Pipeline jobs are temporary and transient. As long as the patch is there, a pipeline will be built when needed.
Leave it in the ground in case your kids need it. New green technologies are creating more jobs than the oil patch.

There was a documentary about oil and one of the things a professor said was; "One of the things that haunts me is that future generations will look back at us and say you had this amazing thing called oil and you burned it"

Also President Biden hasn't made any moves to curtail hydraulic fracking but he needs to because fracking pollutes water aquifers and ground water. And we can live without oil but humans cannot live without water.

We need to fact check several things here. One of the biggest issues for the 81 million people who voted for President Biden was addressing global warming/climate change. So President Biden is responding to the mandate that elected him. And I have to laugh at those conservative/Republicans quoting labor unions when one of the conservative/Republican's goals for the past 30 years is to kill all unions. While President Biden and VP Harris are pushing Unions in everything they do. And then because all conservative/Republicans do when they are not committing treason is lie we have to address the old and already debunked lies about how many jobs the Keystone Pipeline would create.

Keystone pipeline: How many jobs it would really create

Shooter remembers when he was a kid, the pundits were predicting we'd be out of oil before 2000. And remember when we got "Earth Day" in 1970?
The "experts each year broadcast their predictions of what will be happening to us in the future................

    by Mark J. Perry

    1. Harvard biologist George Wald estimated that “civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”

    2. “We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation,” wrote Washington University biologist Barry Commoner in the Earth Day issue of the scholarly journal Environment.

    3. The day after the first Earth Day, the New York Times editorial page warned, “Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence but to save the race from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction.”

    4. “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make,” Paul Ehrlich confidently declared in the April 1970 issue of Mademoiselle. “The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”

    5. “Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born,” wrote Paul Ehrlich in a 1969 essay titled “Eco-Catastrophe! “By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.”

    6. Ehrlich sketched out his most alarmist scenario for the 1970 Earth Day issue of The Progressive, assuring readers that between 1980 and 1989, some 4 billion people, including 65 million Americans, would perish in the “Great Die-Off.”

    7. “It is already too late to avoid mass starvation,” declared Denis Hayes, the chief organizer for Earth Day, in the Spring 1970 issue of The Living Wilderness.

    8. Peter Gunter, a North Texas State University professor, wrote in 1970, “Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions….By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.”

    9. In January 1970, Life reported, "Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half….”

    10. Ecologist Kenneth Watt told Time that, “At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.”

    11. Barry Commoner predicted that decaying organic pollutants would use up all of the oxygen in America’s rivers, causing freshwater fish to suffocate.

    12. Paul Ehrlich chimed in, predicting in 1970 that “air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” Ehrlich sketched a scenario in which 200,000 Americans would die in 1973 during “smog disasters” in New York and Los Angeles.

    13. Paul Ehrlich warned in the May 1970 issue of Audubon that DDT and other chlorinated hydrocarbons “may have substantially reduced the life expectancy of people born since 1945.” Ehrlich warned that Americans born since 1946…now had a life expectancy of only 49 years, and he predicted that if current patterns continued this expectancy would reach 42 years by 1980, when it might level out. (Note: According to the most recent CDC report, life expectancy in the US is 78.8 years).

    14. Ecologist Kenneth Watt declared, “By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate…that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, `Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, `I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’”

    15. Harrison Brown, a scientist at the National Academy of Sciences, published a chart in Scientific American that looked at metal reserves and estimated the humanity would totally run out of copper shortly after 2000. Lead, zinc, tin, gold, and silver would be gone before 1990.

    16. Sen. Gaylord Nelson wrote in Look that, “Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, believes that in 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.”

    17. In 1975, Paul Ehrlich predicted that “since more than nine-tenths of the original tropical rainforests will be removed in most areas within the next 30 years or so, it is expected that half of the organisms in these areas will vanish with it.”

    18. Kenneth Watt warned about a pending Ice Age in a speech. “The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years,” he declared. “If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”

    So here's the thing.
We don't need to be trashing our planet.
You know, leaving shit laying all over the place, or wasting resources or generally being pigs.
That, we can address pretty easily.
Cleaning up now, that's going to take more effort.
The Ocean Cleanup celebrates first haul of plastic from the Great Pacific garbage patch - Bing video

    Now, as far as the doomsday predictors and the "experts" claiming we are ALL GONNA DIE!!, well, lets all take a deep breath and keep in mind a couple of things;
Figures never lie, but liars figure.
Even experts make mistakes. They make more mistakes when they have an agenda.
The more a "solution" will cost in terms of money, sacrifice, and organization, the more skeptical we need to be. Someone always profits.
Mistakes don't mean an "expert" is always wrong, but it does mean we get more skeptical and cynical the more mistakes are made.

It keeps the price of bitumen low for Americans by constricting the flow.
There are a few refineries in Texas that can't refine anything but bitumen.
They get all that is needed by existing pipeline and rail car.

All the politics and payoffs aside, cancellation of the pipeline is one of Bidens campaign promises.

But if joe was serious about unity he could have gone a long way with that by having discussions before he canceled the pipeline and threw 10,000 people out of work. In a pandemic.

So, how many truck loads or train loads of oil will now be hauled instead of moved in the pipeline?
      Don't bother; that was rhetorical.

“To move 830,000 barrels a day via rail or truck would significantly strain existing infrastructure. An average tanker truck can carry 200 barrels of crude or petroleum product. To transport Keystone XL’s 830,000 barrels a day capacity, it would require 4,150 tanker truck loads daily. An average rail car can carry 700 barrels of crude oil. To transport Keystone XL’s 830,000 barrels a day capacity, it would require 1,185 rail cars per day.”
Keystone was a Biden campaign promise. He kept it. Now, he gets to deal with the fallout from his decision; more CO2 in the atmosphere, more spills, more pollution. Oh, and worse relations with Canada. Course, despicables won't want to talk about any of this, they twirled and peed on themselves when Trump renegotiated NAFTA. No need to do it all again for biden, eh?

It's funny - Joe Biden stabs voters in the back within his first week, and reveals that he lied about so much that he promised during his campaign (like "I'm going to protect your jobs), and the Mainstream Media is still asking stupid questions like, "will you keep the plans for the new color scheme of Air Force One?' and 'Will you let Evil Trump go unpunished?' ' -and staying away from his lies and the ills he has already inflicted on many who voted for him.

These are major paying jobs I mean major over 100,000 between 100,000 to 200,000 a year there’s no way to government can replace them jobs for that many people . A guy pushing a broom on a pipeline job makes $100,000 . Guys wait their whole lives to get on a job like that . Joe took care of that pretty quickly . Making the railroads important again . Railroads are government subsidized go figure . Railroad workers , work for peanuts literally compared to other jobs . Shutting down the pipeline job is it just a job there’s many many more jobs attached to it plumbers pipefitters refinery workers there is a lot a lot a lot of jobs attached to a pipeline . And by the way pipeline is the safest most safest there’s no other way safer to move oil in the pipeline . Look at the Alaskan pipeline I think it had one leak in 50 years . . And that thing is above ground in the harshest of Elements . I probably would’ve never leaked if that Caribou didn’t crash into it . Lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol I might’ve made that part up . The Caribou don’t quote me on that . lol lol lol lol

Welding trucks cost over a hundred thousand easily at the cost of the welder himself . If you people only knew what others go though to make our lives convenient. These men pray for jobs like these . And we all benefit . @Rixer. Things like this hurt all of us . Me more than you probably, but if it was being done to you in your field I’d be equally as mad . Because I care .

Democrat Sen. Tester: Canceling Keystone pipeline was a mistake

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 5:45 PM PT – Tuesday, February 2, 2021

A Democrat senator broke ranks with his party when it came to the Keystone XL pipeline. In an interview with CNN on Tuesday, Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) said he supported the controversial project, in a slight to the Biden administration.

Tester explained he thought it was a mistake for Joe Biden to cancel its construction. He said there are caveats to that, including the need for safer standards in its construction and that it’s done while respecting people’s private property rights.

The senator added he has a personal connection to this issue because he is a farmer.

“But I will tell you, in my real life I’m a farmer, and we’re not where we need to be in the country for replacing diesel fuel with something else, in a tractor for example, or in a semi that’s going down the road,” Tester stated. “We will get there, but it’s going to take some good policies from Washington D.C.”

The decision to disband the project is going to cost an estimated 11 thousand jobs.

Just as Crime boss Biden and the Ho (half cracker 3.0) Administration cancels the Keystone XL project.

We find that Crime boss Biden and the Ho (half cracker 3.0) Administration is a real friend of Russia, the Construction of the Nord Stream 2 project was halted by the Trump Administration...then re administered by the Crime boss Biden and the Ho (half cracker 3.0) Administration...as it bypasses Ukraine and deprives the country of lucrative transit fees.

Many worry the project, once completed, would increase Russia’s leverage over Europe.

Yup...Crime boss Biden and the Ho (half cracker 3.0) Administration has the interests of the American Citizens on the front page.

The 11,000 and $2 billion figures cited in the Facebook post are estimates published by the company, but most of the jobs would be temporary.

In short: Most of the estimated jobs were temporary.

The State Department forecasted that no more than 50 jobs, some of which could be located in Canada, would be required to maintain the pipeline. Thirty-five of them would be permanent, while 15 would be temporary contractors.

Oil companies need to inform regulators which type of oil they are transporting in pipelines and tailor response plans accordingly, the report recommends.

But I thought climate change matters. Does Joe thing there is a fence around the U.S. that keeps the weather from other countries out?
His fence just keeps the American citizens out of their capital. Doesn't do a thing about climate change.

I have a gas well about 80 yards from the House..(free gas mother fuckers...)been there for over 30 years now...not to mention that I also have 6'' transmission line that has been here for over 70 years and is still being used at an operating pressure of around 600psi.
We can always tell when it's in operation, when we have a light snow, the snow melts over the pipeline.

The Keystone XL pipeline was only needed to transport bitumin to be produced from future projects.
The price of bitumin has been climbing well after a bounce out of the basement. I'm happy.
Canada should stick a Y at the border and go east and west with it.
